7. The Prestige Performance of the Year

The Prestige Performance of the Year is awarded to the best individual performance in a single match during the season. The award is sponsored by our main club partner Prestige and all team captains nominate a performance from the season, before a club wide vote amongst members. This is presented at the club end of season dinner and awards night.

Current Holder

The Prestige Performance of the Year for 2024 was awarded to Will Saich.

Will took a stunning 6/3 (yes, 6 wickets for 3 runs) for the 3rd XI vs Hampton Hill 5th XI in Surrey Championship Division 6 Central (scorecard here). 15 year old Will opened the bowling that day and in good batting conditions, ripped the heart out of the Hampton Hill batting line up with 6-3 in 5 overs, bowling admirably straight with four victims clean bowled and one LBW. His contribution saw Hampton Hill bowled out for just 49. This was a team that had a strong line up and went on to finish mid table. Then for good measure Will hit the winning run to give the 3s their first (and only) victory of the season.

Previous Winners

  • 2023 - Richard Kendall scored a fantastic 120 for the 3rd XI vs Trinity Mid-Whitgiftian in Surrey Championship Division 6 East (scorecard here). Bank posted 252/3 in the first innings, which is comfortably the 3rd XI's highest total since re-joining the league in 2020. This was also just the second time the team have been past 200 in those four years of competitive cricket, with the centrepiece being Kendall’s maiden century of 120 runs from 109 balls. The innings was Bank’s only league century of the season in any team and was also the highest individual score made by any player in Division 6 East all season. It led to a 69 run victory in the game, starting a four match winning streak to help the 3rd XI to their highest league finish since re-entering league cricket.

  • 2022 - Kit Winder took an amazing 7-33 from 14 overs for the 1st XI vs Dorking in Surrey Championship 1st XI Division 2 (scorecard here). This helped to bowl Dorking out for just 69 as the Bank went on to win by 5 wickets. Kit's figures were the best at Bank 1st XI level in 15 years.
