The trophy is played for on the club's annual Presidents Day, and was renamed in 2016 to commemorate Barry Hoffmann. Barry was Club Chairman over two periods for 25 years, as well as captaining and organising teams throughout his 50 year playing career.
The match usually features those at the lower end of the club and was first contested in 1950 on the Bank of England annual Governors Day. This became a tradition that was to last over 50 years, before becoming part of the Bank of England Sports Club annual Summer Veterans Day in the early 2000s. In 2015 we created the cricket club President's Day and the contest has been a part of it ever since.
